First interview was with the internal recruitment manager and that was fine. The second interview was with the hiring manager, she had her camera off during the interview which made things awkward and then she took a call mid interview and didn’t apologize for it and left me on hold.

The interview process was a straightforward accounting interview. It started with a recruiter call, followed by two rounds with the hiring manager and the director. The interviews were conducted over Google Meet. After that, the recruiter sent over an offer letter, and then there was a background check before the first day.

I applied on Friday and got a virtual call from the recruiter on Saturday about the position. I had the interview on Monday and it went well. She then passed my info to the manager and I interviewed with her virtually on Tuesday. It went well but on Wednesday I got an email saying they decided to move forward. She seemed like she had just woken up and I was dressed and ready to go. She mentioned that most people there are new, with less than a year of experience, and everyone works remotely. The company has potential but a high turnover rate. They look for good talent like me but then reject it. I checked the interviewer on LinkedIn and I have more education than her. She has no prior management experience, so be careful who you let hire you because they might not be qualified to manage a department.
