First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Goosehead Insurance.
Customer Service Agent
An HR rep first rang me up on the phone. She was super nice and we set up a phone interview for the next day. After that, she told me she wanted me to have another phone interview with her coworker, which was set for a few days later. Following that interview, they let me know they wanted me to come in for a final round of interviews. This final round went on for a few hours. It started with breakfast and meeting some folks who are currently doing the job I applied for. Then, we got a tour of the place. After that, there was a presentation giving us more info about the company. We then interviewed with three different higher-ups and got to shadow someone in the role. The whole thing wrapped up with a goody bag. They even gave me a stipend for driving in from out of town. It was smooth and made the company look even better.
- Can you tell me about how you organize your grocery list?
- What's an accomplishment you are proud of?
- What do you consider your best quality?
Customer Service Agent
A recruiter hit me up on LinkedIn, then they called and gave a quick rundown of the company and role and asked if I was still interested. Then, we had a short phone chat about my past jobs and skills. If that went well, I had to fill out an application and sign an NDA. After that, there was a company presentation where they talked about benefits and perks, trying to sell me on the job even though I applied. Then, I had two webcam interviews. The interviewers were nice, but they stressed that the job is fast-paced with unpredictable hours. They got straight to business, asking about my reasons for leaving and general 'Tell me a time when' questions.
- Can you share an instance from your past role where you exceeded your performance metrics?
Customer Care Agent
The day before, the corporate recruiter prepped me for the interview with potential questions and shared a Ted talk on Grit to get me in the right mindset. The interviews were held virtually via Microsoft Teams. We started with an hour-long presentation about the company, which I enjoyed, and it also gave more details about the role. I then interviewed with two service managers in my office. The questions were professional and thoughtful. A key challenge is maintaining energy during a virtual interview, as it's tough to read the room.
- Can you provide examples from your past experiences using the Situation, Action, Result (STAR) format?
- How do concepts like Meritocracy and Grit resonate with your work ethic and this company's values?
