Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Goodwin.
Legal Secretary
The interview process was clear, on time, and simple. The interview coordinators and interviewees were communicative, honest, and nice. I decided to withdraw my candidacy because I didn't feel ready to leave my current role.
- Can you tell me about how you manage your workload?
- Describe your approach to prioritizing tasks.
- How do you typically interact with your coworkers?
Legal Secretary
I applied to Goodwin about 4 times and each time I was rejected for no stated reason. I was only allowed to interview with the office manager and some legal secretaries, not the attorneys. One of the interviewers was a recent hire who lacked corporate experience. I learned that Goodwin apparently prioritizes hiring white and young individuals with no experience, which is quite disheartening given the firm's claims about diversity.
- What makes you want to apply?
Legal Secretary
I had an initial chat with HR, and then I was interviewed by the attorney and associate I'd be working with. Both of those meetings went well, and they pretty much told me I'd get an offer. They checked my references and got really good feedback. But then, I never actually got the job offer. It was kind of annoying because they talked to my current employer and then didn't hire me even after a great reference check.
