First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Goodwill.
Sorter
Applying was super quick, like three minutes. Getting ahold of the hiring manager was a nightmare though, mostly because of covid19. Eventually, I got a response and was called in for an in-person chat. The interview itself felt a bit weird, cramped in a tiny room with three interviewers. They didn't seem to have many questions for me since the job is pretty straightforward. I didn't get the job, and they let me know later than they said they would, apparently because they were busy.
- Can you work full-time while also attending college?
- What unique contributions can you make to the company in this role?
- Describe your ability to bend and lift when sorting clothes.
Warehouse Manager
I had 3 interviews over two days. Each was professional, and the recruiters knew a lot about the job. It was a pleasant experience, much better than my previous time there.
- What is your level of knowledge regarding OSHA law?
Floor Associate
I filled out an application one day and had my first interview the next with the store manager and assignment manager. They scheduled me for a second interview the following day with another manager. The second interview was pretty much the same questions as the first managers. I called to follow up about a week later and was told to come in the next day to the Goodwill location.
- Are you able to lift 50lbs?
