Product Manager
This was a bogus interview, designed to get work done by candidates during the COVID-19 situation. It started with an HR screening, followed by two rounds with the product head and another product person. They kept saying they were happy with me and my solutions for their business problems. Then came the assignment where I had to play their game, identify 5 problem areas, and suggest 5 features for their live game, needing a polished solution. I was skeptical, having read similar reviews about companies using candidates for free work. Still, I decided to give it my best shot. The worst part was being ghosted for two full months, despite sending follow-up emails. I realized my time was wasted and moved on. Eventually, they emailed back saying they liked my solutions but weren't moving forward because they aren't hiring for that specific role. Coming from a strong gaming background, I've seen companies use interviews for ideas and free work. So, if you don't want this trauma and waste of time, stay away.
- Could you identify five main issues with two of the games you reviewed?
- Propose five new features for two of their games and specify which metrics each feature would enhance.
- Describe your approach to planning a roadmap for these proposed features, including how you would allocate resources.

I had two rounds of interview. HR attended and held the first one, while HOD and HR were asking questions on the second round. Overall it was very smooth experience. HR kept in touch during the entire process and answered questions as they arose. Interviewers were delicate and brief, two rounds combined took no more than hour and a half! One of the most important thing was willingness of GGS to help with entire relocation process. It looks like they are on top of this and ready to offer help and advice if needed. That fact had a great influence during job offer review. So I'm very satisfied with entire process and would definitely recommend GGS to my colleagues.
- Can you describe your current role at your company?
- What are your main duties and responsibilities?
- How do you handle requirements?
Product Manager
The hiring process was quick and well-organized. I heard back just 2 days after applying. The first step was a phone chat with HR, covering general personal questions and my work history. About a week later, they emailed to set up an in-person interview at their Hamburg office, scheduled for two weeks after that. The actual interview day was really well-planned, from checking in at reception to leaving. I met the department head and two hiring managers. The in-person part lasted 1.5 hours, focusing on my previous work. They dug into every part of my resume to see if my thinking was on the right track, which I found important. After the interview, the hiring manager gave me a tour of the offices and introduced me to the team I'd be joining if I got the job. This was impressive. During the tour, I could ask as many questions as I wanted about the company and team. The best part was how professional and knowledgeable the HR team was. They knew exactly what they were looking for and retained good employees. In my eight years of experience, this HR team was the best I've encountered.
- Can you tell me about a project from about 7 years ago?
- Tell me about your past work experience.
