Good Apple Interview Questions
& Process

The interview process had several rounds involving different teams. First, there was a behavioral call with HR. Then, I had a behavioral call with the main team members. After that, a more technical call assessed my background and suitability for the role. Next, I was given a project to complete within a week. Finally, I had to give a presentation to the full team, including HR and practitioners, followed by a Q&A session.

The initial screening was easy, especially since a friend referred me and they invited me for an in-person interview. I met with four people who were really nice, and I liked the company a lot. The interview seemed to go well, even though I messed up once. One interviewer mentioned they were hiring four people in the department that week and hinted I'd be one of them. He said I'd definitely hear back within a week, and if not, to email the head of HR. A week passed, I followed up, and heard nothing. It was around the holidays, which can get busy, so I understood if the timeline slipped, but I followed up again and still nothing. I don't know what happened internally, but I was disappointed. I would have at least appreciated a rejection.

I applied through LinkedIn and had a 20 minute screening chat, then went in for an in-person interview within 2 weeks. At the interview, I met with 3 different people individually, including one of the co-founders. Everyone I met was nice and excited about Good Apple, and the interviews felt pretty chill and fun. They asked me to talk about my background, my career goals, and then asked specific questions based on my resume. I was kinda surprised that it seemed like nobody had read my resume before the interviews – it felt like they didn't even know they were meeting a candidate, and it seemed a bit disorganized. I was told I'd hear back in a week or two, but nothing came of it. I sent thank you notes to everyone I met, and didn't get replies, which is fine. But I was bummed that my follow-up emails (after 2wks and 5wks) were ignored by the hiring manager. A simple 'thanks but no thanks' would've been nice after I took the time to come in.

The interview process involved three interviews with HR coordinators, followed by two interviews with potential teammates. After that, I had to give a 30-minute presentation to about 15 employees. I think each interview went well because I moved on to the next stage. After the presentation, I had to follow up three times to find out about my application status. They got back to me two weeks later, saying that even though my experience and interests matched what they were looking for, they decided to go with other candidates. I'm not sure what else they were looking for since experience, interest, and a bachelor's degree weren't enough for an entry-level position. I'm really disappointed because the whole process took over two months and 12 hours of my time. It felt like they didn't respect my time. It was a good learning experience about professionalism, but I wish they had given me some real feedback to help me grow.
