I saw the store hiring sign in the window and applied online. Since I didn't hear back after a couple of weeks, I called to set up an in-person meeting at the store to talk about the day-to-day tasks and for the interview. My first training happened the same day as the interview. Before I started preparing drinks, they asked me some questions and showed me how to prepare things.

They asked about my availability and how I handle being self-sufficient as a worker, especially when it gets busy. The manager was very open to answering my questions about the store right away. They also asked "Why Gong Cha specifically?" which is a good question to think about before your interview.

The boba shop interview was pretty simple. They mostly asked about customer service, when I'm available, and if I had worked anywhere before. We talked about dealing with busy times and what to do if a customer was being difficult. It was a pretty chill chat, not super formal. They seemed more focused on if I had a good attitude and was ready to learn, rather than specific skills. Basically, they wanted to see if I'd fit in with the team and the shop's vibe.
