I applied online and got called for an interview about a week later. When I arrived, it was pretty casual. The manager came and got me from the lobby and took me to his office. There were three people interviewing me: the manager, the engineer I'd be interning under, and another employee who was there, watched, and asked a couple of questions but wasn't really part of the interview. They asked general questions like how I found out about them, what I knew about their products, general technical questions, and what I could bring to the company. They were easy to talk to, nice, and the atmosphere was casual. If I had known more about the company and the position, I would have done better. The interview went well even though I wasn't prepared. If I'd done some research on the company and the position, I would have done very well.

This was probably the worst interview I've had. The interviewers were very scattered and did not have the interview properly set up. I was then taken to a tiny room where there weren't enough chairs nor anywhere to work out given questions. Two of the interviewers actually cussed multiple times in front of me and one of them would stare at me and chuckle when he didn't like the answer I gave to the questions. Very unprofessional, to the point to where I just wanted to get out of there.

After a good initial chat with the recruiter, I interviewed with the President and Hiring Manager. The hiring manager interview was pretty standard. I was supposed to get product access next and give feedback. But, the interview with the president was one of the worst ever. No questions about my job qualifications. Instead, they asked really inappropriate questions about my last company. It seemed like the president didn't even know what role I was applying for. It was unprofessional and some questions felt illegal.

Technical Coding

I applied for the C Software Programmer job through the company's website on 9/28/2012. Shortly after applying, I got an automated email. Later that day, HR emailed me a problem description. I submitted my response via their online portal on Oct. 1. On Oct. 8, I heard back from Golden Frog. I had the correct answer to the technical question, but the manager was expecting an answer to different specs. The company's automated system couldn't handle correcting their errors.
