Got the interview scheduled by HR about 2 weeks out. Talked with the HR rep for about 30 mins, went a bit over. Then talked with the hiring Manager for less than an hour. No other chats before they gave me the offer.
- Can you describe your experience relevant to this role?
- Could you elaborate on your previous work experiences?
Manager
The whole thing took over 2 months. Had one screening call and then three more interview rounds, one of which was with a panel. Then there was a final HM interview. After all the interviews, I waited almost 4 weeks, even following up a few times, just to be told they went with someone else. The questions were a mix of behavioral and role-specific stuff, really focusing on the STAR method and how it connects to results, metrics, and ROI. Honestly, the length of the process and the lack of respect for my time felt off, especially compared to the company’s values and the 'exceptional member service' they talk about. It left a really bad impression. My advice to the TA team is to treat candidates like members—some of us actually are—and provide a good experience that actually reflects the company’s values, since it’s member-owned. Not getting the job isn’t even the biggest letdown; it’s being ghosted and having a poor candidate experience that makes me question if the organization truly lives its values for employees, beyond just the awards.
- In your view, how do we define and track success to ensure it aligns with and supports the organization's objectives?
Learning Professional
It started with a phone screen, then a manager chat, followed by a panel interview. Lots of behavioral questions and how I reacted to things were asked. Good idea to look into the company and what they care about. Pretty straightforward process overall.
- What do you look for in an employer to establish trust?
Loan Processor
It was a video call with two Golden 1 employees, lasting 30 minutes. Both interviewers had 5 years of experience at the company. I asked about promotion paths after proving my worth, but they seemed put off and couldn't answer. That's a huge red flag. Also, it was a contract position, so no benefits, which I'm not interested in.
- Can you share an experience of handling a difficult customer?
- How do you manage to meet deadlines when you are swamped with work?
