Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Goldberg Segalla.
Associate Attorney
I had a Microsoft Teams meeting that lasted about an hour with 3 partners. They mainly asked about my previous experience and gave details about the job. It was a pretty standard interview, but they were a bit critical of prior experience, especially if it wasn't from a defense firm.
- Can you tell me about your experience working with clients?
Attorney
We had two video calls, both remote. First, I chatted with the main partners at the office I applied to. It was a more casual chat to see if I'd fit in and where I'd best land in a practice group, and for me to learn about them and the office vibe. Then, I had a second interview with four partners, each from a different US office but all in the same specific practice area. This part got more technical, focusing on my experience in that practice area and what I could contribute.
- What's prompting your departure from your current law firm?
- What motivates your interest in pursuing a career in big law?
- Could you detail your experience within [specific practice area]?
Attorney
It was a simple and remote interview process. The questions were very surface level, and you didn't interview with the people you would end up working with on a local level. It's a simple interview if they need people.
