This was one of the worst interview experiences ever. The company wasted hours on a data science assessment, then rejected me for unsatisfactory work, even though the recruiter said not to spend more than 2 hours and I spent over 3. It seems like they aren't serious about hiring and might be using candidates' work to improve their systems. Very suspicious and deceptive.

I talked to a recruiter online and then I was given a take-home task about personalized ranking. It was pretty straightforward, but I think I approached it differently due to my past experience. In hindsight, maybe that was a mistake. I didn't get the job and they didn't provide any feedback. What I didn't appreciate was how it felt like they were trying to get free ideas and code. If they're going to ask for a write-up, the least they could do is offer some basic feedback.
