Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Gojek.
Corporate Recruiter
It was a good process, went smoothly. They provided feedback about two weeks after. Everything was explained very clearly. The recruiter was pleasant, and the role was described well during the first call.
- Tell me about your greatest accomplishment.
Recruiter
This is about the phone interview phase. It was a one-way process with minimal interaction. I initially thought Gojek was a company with humble and sincere employees, but they didn't update me on my application status for over a month. It's really important to be upfront, especially in the first contact. Sometimes, instead of just an automated rejection, a personalized email would be better, unless I specifically asked not to. You never know, the tables might turn, and you could be looking for a job yourself. Then, you'd understand.
- Can you tell me more about yourself?
Technical Recruiter
After a referral, it took me a week of follow-up to set up the interview. Round 1 was with a Lead Technical Recruiter. I explained my experience in detail and asked questions, which she answered thoroughly. Round 2 was with another Lead Technical Recruiter. I described my role, responsibilities, and strategies for tech hiring. I asked many questions, but she seemed inattentive, repeatedly asking me to repeat them. She eventually mentioned she recently joined Gojek and didn't know much about the role. It's a mutual process; candidates seek the right opportunities just as recruiters seek the right candidates. Perhaps her inattention was a sign of rejection.
- Could you describe your criteria for evaluating candidates during screening calls, and what hiring managers prioritize during interviews?
