Behavioral Presentation Other

It was a standard sales interview. First, a recruiter call, then a 1-on-1 with the hiring manager. After that, I had to give an in-person presentation to sales leadership. There was also a zoom call from their office with a non-sales team member to see if I'd fit in. I'm not happy because the head of sales was 20 minutes late for the presentation, which was disruptive. I applied for an enterprise role but they ended up offering me a mid-market role with a lower salary because they didn't have enough of a market for enterprise clients. I felt it was a waste of time and disrespectful since I put in a lot of effort.

Behavioral Technical Case

First, there was a 20-minute phone screen where they went over my experience, my motivations for wanting to work there and leave my current job. Then, about a week later, I had two 45-minute interviews. The first was a culture fit interview focusing on how I'd handle situations involving helping others or working with people, basically assessing my personality and if I'd fit the company values. The second interview was with a Manager and a peer and focused on the technical aspects of the job and my skills. I heard back two days later. A week after that, I came in for three 30-minute interviews. The first was a casual chat with my potential team over coffee to discuss myself and ask questions about their experiences at the company. Next, I had a chat with my manager to go over any details I wanted, discuss career aspects, and what to expect from the team and company. The final interview was with the CRO, which was very informal, discussing personal life, motivations, and then asking about my ranking of Gocardless and if I'd accept an offer. Although I didn't get that job, two days later I was contacted about a different position that opened up, which they thought was a better fit. I'm happy with it, as I didn't think my skills were suited for the first role, and now I'm learning a new business function that could be beneficial if I decide to move internally, as I can understand how different teams operate.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It started with a phone interview and then a face-to-face interview for an hour. The face-to-face part began with a pointless grilling by a colleague at your level, making you feel completely inept and at the bottom before you've even started. After the first half-hour of interview questions, you're then put under the spotlight to deliver two mock calls. The manager would jump in and ask all sorts of vague questions that didn't really have any substance. They give off this vibe of being too cool for the interview and with that attitude, you're not cool enough to be there. There's a mediocre attitude to the whole thing. The worst part is the feedback. They give you really great feedback about your answers and your mock calls, making you feel like you've succeeded. Then you find out it was totally disingenuous and fake, just to make you feel good while you're there. It would be much better to have more qualified interviewees than those who are at entry-level positions in the company.
