Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GoCardless.
Analyst
It was a really nice, friendly, and interesting interview process. First, I had a recruiter chat, then a chat with a director, and then I was given a take-home task. Discussing the take-home task was the last step. The task was tough but rewarding. They made sure I knew what was expected and gave me good pointers along the way.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Support Analyst
Started with a 15-minute phone screen, then a written assignment which included responding to sample emails and a creative writing piece in French. After that, the first in-house interview was 45 minutes in French to test language skills, followed by another 45 minutes in English. The second in-house interview was a 1-hour working session with the Support team where I had to perform basic tasks and respond to sample calls. Finally, there was a 45-minute interview with the head of the department.
- What do you think is your greatest asset to GoCardless?
Analyst
The recruiter was late to our scheduled call and didn't apologize or acknowledge it. Then, the recruiter proceeded to read the job description verbatim without adding any new information or context. I decided to withdraw from the process after this initial call.
