It started with a phone interview where the interviewer was sharp and asked about OOP concepts and algorithms. Then I went in person to meet the team. The first interview involved 5 people. They tested my C# knowledge conceptually, had me read and write code, and gave me a math exercise and a brain teaser. I passed that. The second round was meeting upper management. It felt like intelligence decreased with rank in that financial company. Looking back, I should've left when they asked me to 'prove that you can deliver.' I wanted to argue that a proof is irrefutable and I could only talk about past projects, not truly prove it without a test project, which is still not absolute proof, similar to proving you're a good manager. But I didn't say that. They were looking for a contractor, and I wanted full-time, so it didn't work out.
