Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GM Financial.
Funding Specialist
The initial phone interview was quite short, about 15-20 minutes. Following that, they arranged an in-person meeting. Two friendly people interviewed me, asking questions that could be related to my current or past job experiences. All in all, the process felt easy and stress-free. They also mentioned a background check would be part of the process.
- Why were you interested in applying for this position?
Funding Specialist
The interview process was ok. Not too difficult but enough to where the managers could get to know more about to prospective employee. I went through a staffing company to get the job. So I interviewed with a recruiter from the staffing company as well as a hiring manager within the department I was applying to.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Funding Specialist
Applied through a referral and heard back from HR within a week. Had a 30-minute call discussing my resume and motivations for joining the company, along with 3-4 behavioral questions. This led to an in-person interview a week later with two supervisors who reviewed my resume and asked more behavioral questions. Immediately after, I met with an AVP to assess cultural and team fit. Received an offer about a week later. The whole process was very positive.
