Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GM Financial.
Analyst
- Tell me about projects you've worked on, their results, and situations that were problems but were eventually turned into solutions.
Senior Analyst
The interview went very well. All the normal interview questions. Situational questions based on certain scenarios. Very cool, the interview was very light and focused on topics that made sense.
- How would you act in certain situations?
Pricing Analyst
The interview process started with a brief phone call. After that, I was invited for an in-person meeting with two friendly interviewers. This was followed by an Excel and SQL test. I finished the test and waited in the room for about 5 to 10 minutes, but nobody came. I went to the lobby, which was also empty. After waiting another 5-10 minutes without anyone from the interview showing up, I asked someone to note that I was leaving. It felt awkward, like they had forgotten about me. During the test, the coordinator had me log into a vendor site for the SQL part after I did the Excel test. However, the SQL test was on a vendor website and timed out while I was doing the Excel test. I had to sheepishly ask for them to log me back in because I didn't have the login details. They told me about a week later that I didn't get the job.
- What are your career aspirations?
