& Process

The interview process was interesting and very easy, with friendly coordinators and a conducive environment. The place looked nice with flowers everywhere. The questions were interesting and it was easy to answer them.

It was a super relaxed interview, more focused on getting to know my personality than anything else. We chatted about movies, travel, and family. It felt less like a traditional interview and more like talking to a friend.

I applied in person, then had an initial interview with a manager to set up a proper interview. The first interview was mainly about my qualifications and experience, and I had to do a role-play where I sold them a menu item. I got a call within an hour for a second interview with the hiring manager. She asked about my previous server experience, my availability, and my reasons for leaving my last job. I asked some good questions, and she mentioned that servers make $2.13/hour. When I asked about the next steps, she said she'd check with the other manager to see what position would be best for me. She said she'd call on Friday, but also suggested I come in on Saturday in case she forgot. I couldn't connect with her on Saturday, and she was in a meeting the following Monday. It's been a few days and I haven't heard back.

I found out Glory Days was hiring through my sibling who worked there, so I decided to apply right after my freshman year of college. I got a paper application and filled it out at home, which asked for basic info like my name, address, work history, and education. After I turned it in, it took me a whole month to get hired. I had to go back to the Burke Glory Days three times over three weeks to ask about my application status. Then, I was given an interview date or range. I had a one-on-one interview with the head manager and managing partner, Jim Rafferty. I wore a polo shirt and nice shorts or pants, which I guess is business casual. The interview was pretty short, about 15-20 minutes. They asked me about my work history, background, and what was on my resume, plus my availability. When it was over, I was hired and started the next week.
