Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Globeop Financial Services.
Fund Accountant
Pathetic... we reached at 12.30 even though we were called at 1. The interviewer, a bald guy, Sagar, seemed to have an issue with finance grads. HR candidates who arrived later were interviewed first. He greeted us at 2, told us to take a lunch break, and then the interview would happen. We waited, but he started with the HR people who came late. Then he left without informing anyone. Another person was in the interview room. Hours went by, 3 o'clock, then 4... until 6 o'clock. My friend and I left, only to find out later that he started the finance interviews at 6:45 PM, just the first round. Then he conducted the second round at 9:15 PM. We found this out from those who attended because they live nearby in Airoli. Even though it's a reputed company, they offer low pay and have a 6-month bond, which makes you wonder why they lack trust. The current employees are also jerks, though the receptionist and janitors were more helpful than Sagar.
- First is HR round, second is technical, and third is the final test/MD round.
Fund Accountant
The interview process was easy. It involved an interview where they asked basic accounting questions and questions about yourself, why you want to work there, and about products like Hedge funds, Mutual funds, Futures, Swaps, Options, and Types. They also asked how they can be sure you won't leave the job. It was an easy interview, so brush up on your accounting and finance skills. The salary was a little low, but the work environment looked decent.
- Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
- Do you have any basic accounting questions?
- Tell me about yourself, and then answer some basic accounting questions.
Fund Accountant
The interview process involves 3 rounds. First, an HR round to check your previous job profile, salary expectations, and communication skills. Then, a Manager and Associate Director round focusing on operational and technical aspects. Finally, a Director round for salary discussions and an overall review of the job profile. The confirmation process might take about a week depending on the director's decision.
- Can you briefly explain your knowledge of financial products and derivatives, and journal entries?
