Senior QA Engineer
I had a really bad interview experience. The first day, I did a technical round, and the next day, I had another discussion. Since I was new, both the Manager and HR interviews were on the same day, and I passed all four rounds. Then, they asked me to go to the client's office in Bangalore for another client round. I booked my travel and hotel, but the interview got cancelled the night before at 7 PM. Because it was so late, I couldn't cancel my bookings and lost about ₹4,000. Two days later, they suddenly asked me to do an iMocha test for a 'different client.' After I took the test, the recruiter stopped answering calls and messages. After a lot of follow-ups, I was told I didn't pass. Since iMocha shows correct answers, it felt like they just wanted to reject me after making me go through so many rounds. It was a total waste of time, effort, and money. It felt very unprofessional and misleading. My advice to management and recruiters is to be upfront during hiring. Don't cancel interviews last minute, especially when candidates spend money on travel. Be organized and consistent to respect candidates' time. Communicate promptly and honestly instead of leaving candidates hanging. If you decide to reject someone, just say so directly instead of dragging the process out. A good hiring process shows the company in a good light and builds trust.
- Can you tell me about the architecture of the framework and automation tool?
- Could you explain Typescript Cloning, Promise, Await and async, rest parameters, and the difference between Unknown and any?
- What testing metrics do you consider important?
QA Engineer
The interview involved one technical interview where they asked basic questions about my experience with quality assurance and test automation. They also asked about ETL, what checks are applied, my daily tasks, and my experience working in an Agile environment.
- What's your approach to performance testing?
- Tell me about your QA and test automation background.
- Explain ETL and the checks involved.
QA Manager
This was the worst interview process I've ever seen for a testing role. They call for the interview, but the HR team gives multiple-choice questions on testing. After clearing that, they give a program to write on 5 scenarios in Eclipse. However, the technical team is terrible; they don't know anything about Java Selenium and just reject candidates without reason. The HR TA team is also terrible. I've never seen anything like this in any company.
- Multiple choice questions on Testing for 12 years of experience
- Write a program covering 5 scenarios using Java Selenium in Eclipse
- Irrelevant questions on Testing
