Customer Success Manager
I made it to the third round of interviews. They told me to get ready for a case study presentation a week before. I had to submit it the day before the interview. I spent a lot of time on it, even taking time off work. But, on the day of the interview, they cancelled it. They said the case study wasn't visual enough and didn't show enough market understanding. They didn't even let me present it or talk about why I did what I did. I wish I could have explained my thinking and gotten some feedback. Cancelling last minute felt weird for a company that talks about teamwork and helping customers. It was a bummer how it ended, especially after a good start. Hopefully, they'll be more considerate of people's time and effort in the future.
- Could you create a case study presentation looking at the top 10 markets outside the UK for one of our clients, and compare how things performed compared to last year?
- In your presentation, please identify the main reasons for changes in revenue within those top 10 non-UK markets.
- Based on your analysis, what strategic suggestions would you offer to the client?
Backend Developer
The interview process started with an HR interview where we discussed my background and interest in the role. Then, I had a Team Lead interview which was technical and experience-focused, and they seemed to really like my background. Next, a Director interview focused on my developer approach, asking about pull requests and responsive service development. After the interviews, I was given a home assignment to build a webhook app within three hours, which felt like they thought I was weak in some areas. This was followed by a 20-minute Zoom code review where the feedback was mostly on minor things like lack of logs and unit tests, and project structure, ignoring the overall quality and the tight timeframe. They kept mentioning their old codebase, which felt like a warning. The whole review was frustrating because it felt like they were nitpicking rather than assessing my skills, and it took them six days to respond.
- What do you look for when reviewing a pull request?
- What are the main things to consider when building a highly responsive service?
- Create a webhook application.
NOC Engineer
The interview process included a SQL test where I was asked a bunch of logical questions. They also asked me about my past jobs and if I knew about what the company does and the industry it's in. Plus, they wanted to know what I thought about where the company stands in the market and its plans.
- Can you explain how to use SQL aggregation functions?
- Tell me about your previous employment history.
- Do you have knowledge of the company's main functions and industry activities?
Fraud Analyst
So, I applied and about a week later, a recruiter called me. It was a quick chat, mostly yes/no stuff, where she told me about the company, pay, and benefits. Then she asked about my availability for an in-person interview that would include a test (SQL & Excel). The in-person interview itself was pretty straightforward with questions like how many days a week I can work, if I'm open to weekend shifts, and how I'd spot fraud. The test had two Excel sheets with big tables, some general questions, and about 5 SQL questions. There were a few red flags though, showing the company's true colors: 1) The job posts didn't mention SQL or Excel at all, and they still have typos in their ads (like 'MusHigh proficiency'). 2) If you don't pass, they just ghost you. 3) The front desk at the Petah-Tikva office acted like they had no clue who I was or why I was there, which felt super weird security-wise.
- What is your availability in terms of workdays per week?
- Are you able to work shifts during weekends?
- Could you explain your process for identifying fraudulent activity?
