First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Girls on the Run.
Intern
There were two interviews. First, a general one about the position. If you passed that, the second interview would be with the department you'd be working in and their supervisor. The staff were friendly and easy to talk to.
- Can you tell me about your background?
Executive Director
First, there was a casual call with one person, it felt connecting. The second and also the first official interview was with the board over video. After the board interview, I followed up with my first contact and was informed of the agency's decision.
- Can you tell me about your experience with DEI initiatives?
Program Manager
I put in my application online. About 2 days later, I got an email for a phone interview. The Executive Director responded really fast and followed up quickly. We had our first interview over the phone with the Executive Director and the Program Director. Then, I had an in-person interview with three directors where they asked behavioral questions. The last interview was also in person, and I had to give a presentation to the whole staff. The staff seemed nice enough, but they asked the same kinds of questions in all three interviews.
- What would you do in a specific situation?
- Describe your approach to working with others.
- Can you share an instance of a conflict you experienced with an employee or volunteer?
Development Manager
The interview process involved 3 rounds. The final interview required presenting a plan based on mock data. Overall, it was a friendly and professional process. I wish there was more connection between local and National chapters.
- What is your motivation for joining Girls on the Run?
