Quality Control
The interview process is tough, and you should expect to be interviewed by multiple people at once who will be asking you questions. The whole thing takes about an hour. They'll discuss the role, your past experiences and challenges, and what you bring to the table.
- What makes you the right person for this job?
QA Manager
I applied on the Gilead website and a recruiter reached out after a few days. Then there were phone screenings and video interviews. They made a job offer about two months later.
- Can you share the biggest professional disappointment you've experienced?
- Tell me about a mistake you've made.
- How have you handled a difficult employee?
QA Specialist
I was looking for a job and found a contractor company (Aerotek/EASI) that had longer contract roles at Gilead (mine was 3 years). Aerotek was my contact for the Gilead interview. I had a couple of phone calls first, then a phone screening with the contract manager at Gilead. After that, I had an in-person interview with the actual hiring manager. The interview was pretty easy and straightforward. Then, I had to do a virtual interview with some other managers from the team I would be joining. It was a bit annoying that they didn't meet me in person when I was already there, but I did it anyway (and took more time off work to talk to them). After meeting everyone, I had to take an online Excel test (you can find lots of practice tests on YouTube, by the way) and then found out I was the second choice for the job. I'm not upset about not getting it, but the interview process definitely had a lot of steps. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it for a contracting job.
- Regarding the skills mentioned in the job description, have you had experience with XYZ?
- Do you have any experience with metrics?
- Could you tell me about your experience with PowerPoint or Excel?
