Giant Tiger Retail Associate Interview Questions
& Process

I met with the owner of the new Giant Tiger location that was opening. We went over my resume and talked about the different jobs that would be available. It was a one-on-one interview, and he was really easy to talk to. We chatted about my past jobs, like working with people who have developmental issues and my time in customer service at Zehrs. We also talked about the store opening and the roles that would be filled. Training was offered before the store officially opened.

I was interviewed by 2 people. They asked me some questions about how I would deal with situations that might come up. They also looked at what I was wearing and told me what was okay and what wasn't. They asked if I had any questions about Giant Tiger. We talked about my disability and how it might impact my job as a cashier since I have hearing loss in both ears. I was really open about it, saying that I might get into trouble for not hearing things correctly, but that's where I'd count on the team. Once they got used to my limits, I think teamwork would be great. I had already done my research on Giant Tiger before the interview, so I knew what they were about as a team. They seemed to like that and went into more detail about the company. I noticed they had a deaf employee the day I interviewed, so I told them that was great and it made me feel more confident that I had a fair shot, as I've been rejected before because of my disability. Very promising employer!!!!! 5 stars
