Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Giant Steps.
Program Assistant
The interview was in person. They asked questions about my experience. After that, there was a tour of the school and fingerprints were required. I was told to dress professionally. The receptionist and staff were nice.
- How did you find out about us?
Project Manager
I had two meetings, each lasting about 45 to 75 minutes, with each of the department managers. Overall, it was a good and positive experience, and they were very nice. I don't recall a specific dress code, but I usually dress casually or smart casual. They offered nice coffee.
- Could you start by telling us a bit about yourself?
- What was the biggest challenge or disadvantage you faced in your last role, and how did you overcome it?
Program Assistant
The interview went super well. The staff were all really nice and knew a lot about the school. It's a public school. I asked about how they hire, and they mentioned they bring in new groups of workers every two weeks. Apparently, there's a high turnover rate, which I'm not sure why. But they did tell me there are chances to move up in the company.
- How do you handle conflict resolution?
- Would you be prepared to physically restrain students?
- Do you have experience working with special education children?
