Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Giant Food.
Stocker
The interview process was straightforward and simple. They asked basic questions about why I wanted the job, what kind of employee I am, and how I would contribute. After the interview, things got a bit messy because there wasn't good communication between departments, so when I showed up for my first day, nobody knew I was supposed to be there or what my role was.
- What makes you want to work at this company?
Overnight Stocker
The interview was super quick, like 15 minutes. They asked if I'd worked overnight shifts before. I said no, but it was fine. They mainly wanted to know about my availability and if I could work on weekends.
- Are you available to work and can you work weekends?
- Do you have any prior grocery experience?
Overnight Stocker
I applied online and after waiting a few days, I received a call to set up an interview. When I got there, I had to wait about 20 minutes before being called in. I went into an office, and then they started asking me questions.
- What makes you a good candidate for this position?
- What are your reasons for wanting to work here?
- Are you able to consistently ensure customer satisfaction?
