First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ghafari Associates.
Architectural Designer
The HR person did the interview, it was 45 minutes long. She looked at my LinkedIn profile like 3 minutes before the call so she seemed unprepared and didn't have my resume. I was asked to rate my skill level with 20+ software on a scale of 1-10, which I thought was kinda pointless but I did it anyway. Some questions felt a bit off, like 'how do we know if we make you an offer that you won't go to your current company and try to get a better offer.' It was an uncomfortable question, and honestly, the chances of someone doing that are about the same as Ghafari taking back an offer. The HR person also asked why I was leaving my current job and when I could start if an offer was made.
- What is your reason for leaving your present employer?
- What is your earliest availability to start employment once an offer is extended?
Architect
Had a long phone interview with HR. Then there was an in person interview. They also had competency and drawing tests. Following that, there was a physical, drug test, and background screening. They were not honest about the structure of management after I voiced concerns about management at my last job. I was complaining about dinosaurs in the system and they should have warned me they had even more dinosaurs to contend with.
- Regarding travel, are you willing to do so?
Architect
It was a really organized process with a lot of interviews. I had one interview with someone from my department, then a higher-up, and HR was there too. It was three interviews total.
- What made you choose architecture as a career?
