There were 2 interviews. One with a consultant and another with the CEO in Argentina. The interviews were via ZOOM. No team members participated. It was a very relaxed meeting to get to know each other and learn more about the company and the position.

Behavioral Case Presentation

First step was pretty basic - I had an interview with the head of HR and we mostly talked about my personal interests and what I see myself in 3 years into the future. Second step - I was given some sales data where I had to find some patterns and describe them. Another bit was to make a presentation about new product of one of the consumer electronics manufacturers and make the interviewers want to put it onto the shelves of retailer they were representing during a role play. Over the years interviews became more complicated, but they still are more then happy to give a chance to everyone with an unorthodox problem solving solutions =)

The interview process involved two phone interviews with Sr. VPs, then an in-person interview at their SFO office. GFK is mostly a market research company trying to be seen as strategic. It became apparent during the interviews that they wanted someone with deep market research experience, which makes you wonder how GFK is different from other market research firms. I was surprised by a call from HR after about a month of waiting post-in-person interview. That call was a behavioral interview. It's a good place to work if you want to create reports from primary research.
