A third-party recruiter first reached out, and I got past their initial screening. Then, I had a phone chat with the hiring manager. This was followed by a meeting with the hiring manager and a 3-hour written test covering math, science, electronics, physics, blueprint reading, and ladder logic. After passing that, I did a virtual panel interview with the hiring manager and some senior Field Service Engineers. The senior folks didn't seem super enthusiastic, honestly. Even though the panel interview went okay and they wanted to do a final interview, I decided to back out because I didn't think I'd be happy there, despite the hiring manager being nice.

Technical Behavioral Presentation

So after you apply, HR checks if you got the basic stuff. Then, a recruiter gives you a call or video chat to talk about your past work and if you're into the job. Might ask you some easy engineering questions. If that goes well, you might have a technical interview. This is where you could do problem-solving, get asked tech questions about the equipment, or deal with job scenarios. Then there's a behavioral part to see your soft skills, how you fit in, and handle work stuff like teamwork or dealing with angry customers. The last step is usually meeting with top bosses, talking more about your potential impact and career goals. If all goes great, you get an offer and can talk about salary and stuff.

Behavioral Coding

The first step was a HR phone screening where they went over basic company info, location, etc. After that, there was a coding take-home assessment with 3 questions covering Python, SQL, and Pandas. The final step was an interview with the hiring manager, which was 30 minutes long and focused on my past experiences, projects, and questions about my coding assessment submission. They mentioned they were in a rush, so it was just one interview, but usually, it's two.
