First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Georgia Tech.
Graduate Student
I had to submit all my grades, recommendation letters, and pay the application fee. I also had to take the GRE and make sure I had the pre-requisites for engineering math like Linear Algebra, Python, and Pyspark.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Graduate Student
I emailed the professor I wanted to work with, and also applied to the department specifying him as my first choice. After a month or two, they set up an interview. I met with about 4 or 5 professors, including my top pick. There were also 10-15 other students who got accepted. It was a pretty chill experience. My advisor did most of the talking during our chat. This was my first interview ever, so I didn't really know what questions to ask.
- Is it true you've only taken X classes in your area of interest?
Graduate Assistant
Once you apply, the Roll Call Manager will give you a call. You need to be an active student to work in the call center. The first 3 days after the phone interview opens are for training, and then you'll start taking live calls.
- In the beginning, how do you learn to take the 'canned speech' and make it your own, or per the caller's intent of asking questions or receiving accurate information?
