Manufacturing Engineer
Started with a 30-minute Teams interview, then a week later had an on-site. The on-site included a tour and then an interview with 6 people total, asking questions in pairs.
- Can you share an experience from your past?
- Describe a situation where you felt strongly about something.
- What is your experience with equipment maintenance?
Process Engineer
I had an interview on campus, and then I went for a site visit and another interview. During the site visit, I met with all 6 process engineers individually. The site visit also included a plant tour, and I met with the process engineers, an HR person, and the engineering plant manager.
- What draws you to the paper and pulp industry?
Reliability Engineer
The hiring process involved submitting an application online, followed by a phone screen and then an on-site interview. They covered all my interview-related expenses. The initial phone screen was pretty straightforward, asking some general questions about my background and hypothetical situations. There were also technical questions on general concepts, but no calculations were needed. This call, which lasted around 45 minutes, included two of the team members who were hiring for the role. The on-site interview was one of the best I've had. The company was really well-prepared, providing clear directions, covering all travel costs, and giving me a detailed schedule with the names and titles of the approximately six interviewers. I received guidance on the behavioral interview format and some sample questions, which helped me prepare and tailor my responses to the specific interviewers. It also helped me focus my research and ask relevant questions. However, it wasn't an easy interview; the interviewers were prepared and asked for examples and follow-ups on many points. The interview lasted nearly 8 hours, including lunch, and it wasn't overly stressful. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I was very impressed with G-P and their interview process.
- Can you share an instance where you successfully persuaded a team or management to adopt a different course of action based on predictive maintenance data?
