I had 4 interviews in total. First was an HR interview, then 2 technical interviews, and the final one was with the Manager and HR. The staff were really nice and professional, and it felt good that they were interested in getting to know me as a person. However, they were serious about testing my technical abilities.

It was a tough interview for an entry-level ecologist role. Talking with the interviewers was challenging, and the questions were very difficult to answer because the interview environment didn't feel welcoming. They focused entirely on experience, with no questions about the person or getting to know the interviewee. There was also a mandatory timed assignment during the interview.

Behavioral Other

I applied online. After a while, my status changed to 'no longer under consideration.' Then, about two days later, the manager called me to ask if I'd like to interview. The interview itself had 4 people, but only one asked questions. It felt off from the start. The receptionist was rude, talking on her phone and not greeting me. The interview started late. There were 3 women and 1 man. The women seemed completely uninterested, one was even on her phone under the table. Nobody smiled or tried to make me feel comfortable. I felt like they just called me to fill a slot and weren't actually interested, even though I was qualified. Nobody walked me out afterwards; I had to find my own way back.

It was a panel interview with a bunch of questions. You had a dialogue and interactions with the review board. They asked you to talk about your education and job experience that relates to this role. Also, they wanted to know what you know about GDOT and what you'd aim to achieve in this role if you were offered the job.
