First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Georgia Department of Human Services.
Legal Secretary
I was asked a bunch of questions about how I manage my time, my organizational skills, how I handle producing time-sensitive materials and coordinate with co-workers, Judges, lawyers and clerks. Also asked about producing documents and working with Team members who don't carry their weight.
- Do you have transportation and how far are you willing to travel?
Economic Support Specialist
I applied in April 2024 and got a call back in June for an interview. There were two panel interviews conducted via Teams, each lasting about 35 minutes. The interviewers were engaging, and overall, the process was simple and easy to navigate on Teams.
- What would you do if faced with a policy that conflicts with your personal beliefs?
Senior Data Analyst
The interview was a panel of managers and directors who asked questions like a standard interview process over a zoom call. The interview lasted an hour. Each person asked a series of questions, covering technical skills and learning capabilities.
- Could you share details about your background and experience?
- What are your technical skills?
- How do you approach learning new things?
Administrator
Applied online, then HR reached out for an in-person interview the next week. When I arrived, I had to answer a written two-part scenario. Right after, I interviewed with the director and two other administrators. The interview mainly consisted of situational questions. They were pretty welcoming and clear about everything. I think they gave me a copy of the questions at the beginning to follow along. It took about a month after applying to even get the interview, and then another two months to hear back about an offer. I didn't accept because of the salary and the lack of communication throughout the whole process.
- How would you handle employees who indicate they want to resign?
