First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Geometric.
Senior Software Engineer
This was for a Senior Java Developer role on a product team at Geometric, working on products integrating CREO/SOLIDWORKS with Teamcenter. First, I had a face-to-face interview with the Tech Lead. Then, there was a hands-on Java assignment focusing on Java AWT/SWING. After that, I had a telephonic interview with the team manager. Next, two telephonic interviews with Tech Leads from the client in the USA. Finally, a telephonic interview with the technical manager and program director, also from the client in the USA.
- Technical interviews covered many questions from Core Java.
- Hands-on Java assignment based on Java AWT/SWING
- Interviews with Managers and Program Director were more about personality and experience.

Applied in Dec 2016 and the entire process took about a month with 5 rounds. Started with a C++ MCQ at home, then an F2F interview, followed by an at-home aptitude test. After that, there was a telephonic technical interview with a panel of 3 people, and finally, HR Salary Negotiation. Received the offer letter in Jan but didn't join because the salary wasn't what I expected.
- Round 1 had about 30 very easy C++ questions.
- Round 2: The interviewer asked about everything I had done in the past 1.5 years. The whole interview focused on the project I was working on and my roles and responsibilities within it. It felt like a stress interview. The interviewer also gave genuine feedback at the end.
- Round 3: HR shared a link for an aptitude test. It had 40 questions and 55 minutes to complete.
Software Developer
I had a phone interview with some technical folks from Geometric, and it went really well. I felt like I nailed all the questions, and the interviewers seemed positive about hiring me. A week later, I reached out to the HR person to check on the status. They mentioned they hadn't received feedback from the interviewers and hadn't heard back. It would have been nice to at least get a response, positive or negative.
- Tell me about your past projects.
