I connected with the company the day before the career fair, not knowing much about them. After applying online and talking at the career fair, they reached out a few days later to set up an interview. They flew me to their HQ in Zeeland for three interviews in one day. The first was a quick 15-minute chat with the HR manager about my background and family. Then, I had an hour-long interview with a production manager where we discussed me more personally, my career path, and work history. He also showed me around the plant and explained my daily duties. The last interview was another hour with a different manager who asked more challenging questions, focusing on how I answered rather than the answers themselves, as he barely took notes. There were no specific STAR or behavioral questions, making it a relaxed process. Unusually, they inquired about my high school GPA and ACT score. They also asked a lot about my family, which suggests they are family-oriented and considerate of personal needs. I received a verbal offer about a month later, with two weeks to decide, and the finalization took another month after acceptance.

I went to three buildings at Gentex and moved around. Sometimes I talked to one person, sometimes two. They took me to lunch. They asked typical behavioral and technical questions. Gentex also likes to ask about personal stuff to see if you fit in the area, like hobbies. They interview a bunch of people then have a meeting to see if anyone who interviewed you wants to hire you. It was a really good experience, people were nice and had great attitudes.

I interviewed with Gentex during my senior year of college. I met the recruiter on campus and let them know I was interested in the company. About a week later, I was contacted for a phone and then an onsite interview. I met with several department managers. They asked some general questions to get to know me and my background in the engineering field.
