The interview process was communicative, straightforward, and respectful. I had a great experience and really appreciated the opportunity and involvement; Gensler was very organized throughout the whole time. It took two months.

HR reached out by email about an in-person interview with the Marketing Leader for the region, scheduled for the next week. I had one interview and then, less than a week later, I was told someone else had already been hired. All in all, it took about a week and a half from when I applied to when I found out the job was taken.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process started with a lot of interest, but then they went silent. I talked to one office, then recruiting asked me to apply for a specific role. I had more chats with team members. They gave me an idea of the pay and seemed really keen. Then, after a while, recruiting reached out again, saying they'd update me on next steps. A month passed, no word. I followed up. Recruiting said no decision yet and thanked me for waiting. Another month and a half, still nothing. I emailed again. It's been over three weeks with no reply. The job posting has been up and down for months. I also applied for the same job in a different city. Talent acquisition contacted me quickly to set up an interview. That interview also seemed to go well. Gensler contacted me to say it was down to me and one other person, and a decision would be made soon, likely in a few days. Several weeks have passed, and still no response, not even to my follow-up. I'm very thorough and polite: I respond quickly, send thank you notes to everyone I interview with and everyone who schedules interviews. I'm highly qualified with the exact experience needed. I think it's really bad form for a potential employer to show clear interest, talk about next steps, and then not even bother to respond briefly to a follow-up email. This happened with two different offices. It seems like a common issue at Gensler. I understand things are transactional now, but this isn't a good way to operate. I don't think it's too much to ask for basic respect and consideration. If a company wants to stand out and have strong values, Gensler's approach misses the mark.
