The team kept me in the loop and was upfront about everything. The whole thing took about three hours total. I spent two hours talking to a recruiter, and then an hour in the office with the manager, who was nice.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I applied online for an EA position in LA. I was first contacted for a phone screen, then had a Zoom interview with the leader I'd be supporting. The third interview was with an EA and a facility coordinator. Even though I've been following Gensler for a long time and was excited about this role, the interview experience was surprisingly disappointing. The LA hiring team was really rude and showed typical LA snobbery. During the interview with the EA and coordinator, the EA barely introduced herself and seemed uninterested and like she was too good to be on the call. When I talked about my experience, they were laughing at my answers, which made me uncomfortable and wonder what was so funny. It felt cliquey and toxic. The EA also implied I wanted the job because working at Gensler might be 'flashy,' but I'm genuinely interested in the work and company, not just the 'show.' My previous team was also 'flashy' but we were humble, kind, and valued people. It makes sense why the last person in this role didn't last long, especially since they bad-mouthed them during my interview. The whole process took over a month, with lots of waiting and follow-ups, and then I was told the position was 'put on hold.' This drawn-out process and the interview experience were horrible and unempathetic, especially given the company's reviews and reputation. I'd advise others considering Gensler to look at other firms with excellent work and genuinely nice, humble, and inviting teams.

I found this job through a recruiter, so my experience might not be typical for someone who applied directly. Everyone I spoke with was polite and professional. I went through several rounds of interviews, including meeting with people who are in similar roles, like Executive Assistants and Administrative Assistants.
