Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at GenScript.
Lab Technician
It was a bit all over the place. I didn't know there would be another candidate, and I thought they were the hiring manager until they showed up late. The questions were brief, repetitive, and not very related to the job.
- Do you know about DNA techniques?
Lab Technician
The interview process was a bit long. I spoke with five different people. For this position, there weren't many technical questions, mostly generic ones like 'what is your strength/weakness' and 'any experience working in this discipline'. The most important questions were about accommodating the nightshift schedule. I think they are standardizing the interview procedure now and might have group interviews in the future.
- Do you have any issues with working the night shift?
Lab Technician
I had initially applied for a sales role and was rejected after the initial phone interview. They then inquired about my interest in a Lab Technician position. I was unfortunately rejected again after a subsequent phone interview for this role as well. There was no further communication after these phone interviews.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience?
