Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Genpact.
Senior Analyst
The interview process had 3 rounds: an initial interactive call, a technical round, and then the final result. Most communication was through email and calls. They suggested YouTube videos to help prepare for the interview, which was pretty generic. The technical round was mainly focused on the job description itself.
- Can you describe your strengths and weaknesses?
- How flexible are you for this role?
- Please discuss your understanding of the job description.

So the process had 2 rounds. First, there was an assignment round which had different sections like aptitude, coding mcqs, DBMS, OS, and computer networks. Then the second round was a mix of technical and HR, where they interviewed me for about 10 mins. Most questions were about my project, specifically topic modeling and logistic regression, and some behavioral questions too. That was it. They shortlisted about 10 people after the exam, but only one got the offer.
- Could you elaborate on your project concerning topic modeling?
- Can you explain your work with logistic regression in the project?
- Were there any other questions asked related to your project?

First I got selected from my university via an Amcat aptitude test. Then, they gave us lectures on credit risk management, just theory. On the recruitment day for the internship, we had an MCQ test based on those lectures by Genpact, no negative marking. After that was a GD round where we discussed two topics. The combined score from the MCQ and GD decided who moved to the final Interview round. They split candidates by their 12th-grade background - commerce and non-commerce. I was non-commerce. In the interview, they first asked about my bachelor's background and personal info to ease us in. Then they asked questions on basic Econometric Theory. After that, I was given a case study to solve on the spot. Finally, they told me to wait for results, and I was selected for the internship.
- Which subject topic do you like the most?
- Can you tell me the basic assumptions of SLRM?
- What tests can be used for Heteroscedasticity?
