First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Genpact Romania.
Human Resources Specialist
I was contacted by a recruiting agency about a role at Genpact. I said yes, and they sent my resume over. An HR person from Genpact called to confirm my interest and mentioned two phone interviews for language skills, which we scheduled. On the day of the interviews, I waited for 30 minutes, but ended up speaking with the person for the second interview first. I thought I'd missed the first one and waited longer. The next day, I was randomly called for the first interview. It felt unprofessional, but I agreed since I was home. I got good feedback and was invited for an in-person interview at Genpact. During this interview, I was asked what motivated me to apply, which seemed odd since I was recruited, not applying. The HR person then described the job, but it was a logistics role, not the HR position I was expecting. I mentioned this, and she said the HR role was filled but asked if I was interested in the logistics job. I agreed, and after the interview, she said feedback would come by email (negative) or phone (positive) by the end of the week. I didn't hear anything, but the recruitment agency kept calling me. After over two weeks, I finally got an email with negative feedback.
- Could you tell me how you learned Spanish?
Accounts Payable Specialist
It started with a 20-minute phone interview to check my language level. After a week, I got an invitation for a face-to-face interview because my language skills were good. In the face-to-face, they explained their business and the responsibilities of the job. Then, I introduced myself, covering my education, experience, and why I wanted to join their company. They also asked about my 5-year plan. After some questions in English, I met the team and saw the workflow. About a week later, I received positive feedback and the job offer.
- Can you tell me about your educational background?
- What relevant experience do you possess?
- What is your motivation for seeking employment with our company?
Senior Accounts Payable
So I started with a phone interview, just general questions about my background, when I could start and what I'm looking to get paid. Then, I had three more phone interviews, each one focused on checking my language skills for three different languages. These language interviews were pretty much the same as the HR recruiter call, just conducted in a foreign language. After those language tests, they called me back two days later and asked me to come in for a one-on-one interview.
- Tell me about your accounting test experience.
- What are your thoughts on the basic accounting questions you were asked?
- What is your work experience?
Recruiter
It was a quick process, starting with a brief phone chat and then one interview. I appreciated that it felt more like a conversation than a typical interview. I felt comfortable and heard, and it was a good space to talk about what drives me, my past work, and what I've accomplished.
- What is your motivation?
- Can you discuss your soft skills?
- What is your experience?
