Customer Success Manager
The interview process had 4 stages: a talent manager chat, then a joint interview with the hiring manager and a TAM principal, followed by meetings with the Director of CS and finally the VP of CS. All interviews were 30 minutes and felt conversational, which was good because I could ask questions to learn more about the role and company. The recruiter was communicative and clear about the process. Everyone was on time, which was a relief.
- How do you feel about AI?
- Can you share any challenges you've faced when working with partners?
- What potential difficulties do you anticipate in the CX space?
Customer Success Manager
I had an initial screen interview. They said I'd go to the hiring manager for the next step, but I couldn't ask any questions about the job or company. It felt one-sided. They also wouldn't share the salary range, which makes me question their transparency and pay practices. Because of this and other things, I decided to withdraw my application, feeling it wasn't a good match.
- Would you be comfortable with up to 30% travel for client meetings?
Customer Success Manager
I applied through LinkedIn in Feb 2020 and got a recruiter call back the same week. After that initial screening, I had a call with one of the CS Directors. Next, I had to prepare a deck and do a mock on-boarding call with a customer in front of a panel of about 5-6 people (peers and managers). I tweaked the deck and added personal touches to my delivery which was received well. They asked me two fun questions at the end: a) what song would you sing at karaoke with teammates? and b) if you were a crayon, what color would you be and why? The interview process went really well until Covid 19 hit. The hiring director let me know they wanted to offer me the job, but it was mid-March, and the company implemented a hiring freeze. It was disappointing to hear I'd have to wait an unknown amount of time. The Director who wanted me on her team was fantastic though, staying in touch every 2-4 weeks for 5 months, providing updates and keeping me in consideration. In August 2020, she let me know the freeze was lifted and they wanted to move forward. I had a catch-up call with her, and then another call with VP-level leadership that same week, which went great. They offered me the job a few days later. The wait was worth it, and I'm excited to join this great organization and make an impact as a new CSM.
- If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
