Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at General Motors.
Software Developer
First, I had a virtual video interview where I answered some questions. Then, I had to submit a few easy LeetCode problems. Finally, there was a single behavioral panel to discuss my background and projects. It took them quite a while to get back to me after the behavioral panel.
- Can you share an example of a project where you had to push through a significant challenge?
Software Engineer Intern
The interview process involved 2 rounds. First, there was a 1-hour technical interview, followed by a 45-minute behavioral interview. It was a pretty easy and straightforward process overall. The technical interviewer was nice and supportive. This is for a commercial SWE intern role in SF.
- A LeetCode easy or medium problem, and Data Structures.
Software Developer
First, I had a phone interview with HR. Then, there was a coding interview using CodeVue where I could use any language. They asked 2 programming questions, one easy and one easy/medium, and then a third question which was an easy SQL question. Finally, there was the last stage.
- Can you tell me about a time you had a conflict with a coworker and how you handled it?
- Tell me about a time you had a conflict with your co-worker(s). How did you resolve it?
