First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at General Mills.
Technology Intern
I went through 2 rounds of interviews. Both rounds were a mix of behavioral and technical questions. It was largely behavioral though, with lots of 'tell me about a time' type questions. The technical questions were pretty conceptual, and one of them involved evaluating the outcome of a code snippet.
- Can you tell me what the output of this code is?
- What would be the result of running this code snippet?
Student Worker
The process was pretty straightforward, but they were quite thorough, so be ready and have solid references ready to go. It's also important to make sure your social media is set to private.
- What makes you want this job?
Intern
I interviewed to join as an intern in October and passed all phases, reaching the interview with the managers, which was the last one. They told me they would let me know if I passed or not. I waited for months and since it was my first interview with a multinational company, I thought it would take a while to get a response. After months, I got tired of waiting and contacted one of the HR managers on LinkedIn. Due to the delay, obviously, there were no more vacancies and I couldn't even get honest feedback on why I wasn't chosen. I really admired the company, but after this, it lost all my respect.
- Would you prefer to submit a task incomplete but on time, or deliver it complete but past the deadline?
