So GDIT's first interview was a behavioral chat. They wanted to get a feel for my background, my experiences, and how I work in teams and professional settings. We talked about my past projects, how I deal with tough situations, and how I team up with others to solve problems. I shared examples of when I showed I could solve problems, adapt, and communicate well while working towards a common goal.

A recruiter reached out to me about an interview at the Towson office, and it was supposed to be onsite. When I got there, I had to wait for the receptionist for over 25 minutes, and they didn't even offer me anything to drink. Then, I was taken to a small room with three people who seemed unfriendly from the start. They had a list of questions and challenged every answer I gave, even the correct ones, which was weird. I couldn't tell why they were so rude and condescending or what they were trying to achieve. They barely looked at me, just at each other, like they were enjoying making me uncomfortable. It was definitely the worst interview I've ever had. I stayed professional and even sent a thank-you note, but it's been over a month with no response about the job. I'm pretty sure I didn't get it, but I wouldn't have taken it anyway.

I had a phone interview with two managers since the director was busy. They asked about my experiences from my resume and then some questions about cybersecurity and software engineering to see where I would fit best, but nothing technical. HR then set me up to come onsite to Pittsfield, MA. They arranged for my car rental and hotel. Once I got there, the director gave me a personal tour. Finally, I met with 3 managers and the director in a conference room. It was pretty informal, and they asked me questions based on my resume, still not technical. One manager asked me to explain the DNS process broadly. Another manager asked for samples of my technical writing.
