Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at General Dynamics.
Administrative Assistant
The interview was conducted in a Team Meeting and felt very laid back and easy. The questions were average, but the setting was comfortable. If you did well in this interview, the next step would be an on-site interview.
- Tell me about a situation where you had to handle many tasks at the same time and what happened as a result.
Administrative Assistant
The interview process was pretty straightforward. It lasted about 30 minutes. They took me on a tour of the place and asked me some questions along the way. They didn't ask about my education but did ask about my previous administrative experience.
- What are your five-year career goals?
- Can you tell me about your experience as an administrative assistant?
Administrative Assistant
The interview process was about 3 hours long, with 1/2 hour interviews with the HR Manager, other Administrative Assistants, Department heads, the General Manager, and the Sales Director. Some managers talked a lot about themselves, which I didn't think was a good way to interview and I didn't learn much about my skills. I was a bit worried when they were dressed casually (jeans and t-shirts) for the interview. They even have casual Fridays when customers visit, which I don't think is professional.
- Can you describe how you manage several competing tasks?
