We did a phone screen, then a hiring manager call, and finished with an onsite. The phone screen and hiring manager call were pretty standard. The onsite was about 3 hours and was a Q and A session with both technical and non-technical questions.

It was a really smooth and positive interview experience. The people were thorough and nice, and the onboarding process went well. They clearly have a good system in place. I'm more interested in reading reviews than going through a lot of hoops to sign up.

The process was typical. First, I spoke with Talent Acquisition, and I seemed like a good fit on paper for this SR. Cad Design role. Then, I met the hiring manager. He came off as cocky from the start and didn't seem impressed with my resume, which was confusing given my background as a cad design lead and managing a team of 20 cad engineers. He had an FEA background but recently took over a new team and seemed to have a limited understanding of Cad, despite using some buzzwords. It was clear he lacked real-world experience. He ended up telling me I should look elsewhere, which I agreed with, but it was a very rude way to put it. I feel bad for whoever joins his team and I won't apply to GD again because I now know to question their leadership.
