I started with an intro of myself and went over my qualifications. Then, we discussed potential future roles and why I'd be a good fit for the company. We also talked about people we both knew from previous jobs.

A recruiter reached out for an interview. The first interview was really good, and I was invited to a second one, which also went well. They mentioned I was competing with one other candidate. Unfortunately, I never heard back, and later checked the website to find out I was no longer being considered. It would be nice if they at least contacted you to let you know the outcome.

It was pretty straightforward, a couple of technical questions about stuff like BGP and OSPF. But mostly they seemed focused on seeing if I'd fit in with the team. Their thinking is that you can teach someone the technical skills, but it's really about your personality and character to see if you'll actually be able to do the job and work well with others.
