I got a call on a weekend and was asked to tell about myself for a Contact Tracer position. I was told I got the job and training would start soon. In the meantime, they offered me the Customer Service Specialist position. I started training classes. Then I got another call for a different job. I told the lady on the phone that I think I'm already working for you. We laughed and I kept working.

First I filled out an app online and then did an online interview for like an hour, which was really just a description of what the company did and a typing test. They didn't mention that this location handles student loan debt, which I have. I was called for a face-to-face the next day and told to wear business attire. When I got there, it was clear that "business attire" wasn't the usual dress code, but that was fine. Before the interview started, they finally told me about the student loans and asked if I had any in default (which I do). Then they had me call FASFA in front of 3 people to see how many loans and how much was in default right then. The 30min interview turned into an hour. I was initially disqualified but got a call from upper management about a position. Seems like if you can type fast and have a pulse, you can get hired. They should really explain what the call center does (each one is different) before you apply. It was like 2 days of back and forth for no reason.

So I applied through Indeed and got an email from who would be my manager. We set up a phone interview for a week later, which I did. Then, I had another panel phone interview with the director and someone else from another department. I called in, waited five minutes, and nobody showed up. I ended up calling my first interviewer, who seemed confused too, and he ended up doing the interview himself even though he already talked to me. They said I'd hear back in a week, but it took four weeks. They kept sending emails saying they wanted to hire me but were waiting on salary approval. They kept missing their own deadlines for callbacks. When I finally got the salary news, it was $15k less than I asked for. My manager then went on vacation, conveniently. I took the job after negotiating a higher salary, but honestly, the whole process showed how disorganized this company is.
