Applied through the website and got an interview. The first position I applied for didn't work out, but the hiring manager referred me to this hiring manager for the same role on a different team. It was mostly basic behavioral questions.

I was extended a verbal offer and congratulated last week, but unfortunately, the offer was rescinded. Apparently, the client felt I lacked the necessary experience, even though the hiring managers at GDIT believed I was a good fit. The hiring managers apparently "fought to get me approved" but were "at the mercy of the client." This was never made clear during the interview process; they only mentioned passing the client's background investigation, which I didn't expect to be another screening of my resume and experience, especially since GDIT was the hiring company. It's clear that nothing is final until a formal employment agreement is signed. Also, I had to repeatedly contact the recruiter because he mentioned it would only take a few days to get the paperwork sent over, but I heard nothing for a week. It was an unprofessional and negative experience overall, and despite being a leader in my field, I wouldn't consider applying to GDIT again.

The interview process spanned over two months. It started with a meeting with my current task leader and her manager. This interview was quite relaxed and friendly, with a deep dive into the role. It felt very natural, and I didn't want it to end, lasting almost 1.5 hours. The next day, I received an email requesting a writing sample. The official offer came about a month later, after negotiating salary and contract details. The final month involved transferring, paperwork, and badging.
