First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at General Atlantic.
Analyst
Started with two phone calls, then a superday in NYC where I met all the analysts and the people running the program. The office is amazing and the culture seemed great. This is a top buy-side firm that recruits from undergrad and offers a role with both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- What is your motivation for applying to GA?
- What draws you to Growth Equity?
- Can you discuss your interest in growth-stage companies and emerging tech trends?
Analyst
I applied for this internship through my school's recruiting platform. I just sent in my resume and then had an on-campus interview. There were two interviews, each about thirty minutes long. One was with an analyst, and the other was with someone from HR. The interviews weren't too tough, and I felt like I did pretty well, but I didn't make it to the "super day."
- How would you go about analyzing a company and its industry?
Analyst
I applied through my university career portal and got an interview call. The email said I would have 2 30 minute interviews but when I went for the interview, I was told I will just have 2 15 minute interviews with each interviewer. The first interview was a resume interview and the interviewer was gauging my interest in GA. The second interviewer was curt and asked me a technical question even before we made introductions. After a couple of short questions, the interviewer wrapped up the conversation and gave me his business card. The second interview lasted maybe 5 minutes and both interviewers said they see me as a great fit and would give "the strongest recommendation" for me. I didn't get a call for second rounds so make of that what you will.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in GA?
